MMGCP Evangelization Project 2023

Mary Mother of Good Counsel Parish, Airport West, embarked on a transformative journey in 2023, embracing the theme “Go Make Disciples of All Nations” with fervor and dedication. Recognizing the importance of extending support to Catholic communities on the peripheries of the Archdiocese of Accra, our Parish Pastoral Council took decisive action. Under the guidance of our Parish Priest, Rev. Father Thomas Betuyre, a special committee was formed to spearhead the evangelization efforts. Led by the dynamic Mr. Joseph Carl Rhule as Chairman and supported by Dr. Akosua Aryeetey as Co-chair, the committee set out with a clear mission: to enhance places of worship for our fellow Catholics in underserved areas. Identifying two churches in need, St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weija and St. Alphonse Catholic Church in Ga Odumase, the committee rallied the support of our vibrant day groups. Together, we embarked on a journey of solidarity, visiting these churches, participating in Holy Mass, and witnessing firsthand the challenges they faced in completing their projects. Our Parish Community responded with generosity and compassion. Through a heartfelt appeal, we called upon our members to contribute towards this noble cause. Their response was overwhelming, reflecting our shared commitment to serving our brothers and sisters in faith. In December 2023, we joined in the Annual Harvest celebrations of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and St. Alphonse Catholic Church. This not only provided financial support but also fostered a deep bond between our parish and these communities. This mission was not only about financial assistance; but also about solidarity, compassion, and the spirit of Christian love. Together, we are making a difference, fulfilling our mission to spread the Gospel and uplift communities in need. Join us in this journey of faith and service.
